Physical Therapy for Hip & Knee Replacement

SportsMedicine GRANT & Orthopaedic Associates Physical Therapy provides a comprehensive post surgical regiment for patients recovering from total hip or total knee surgery.

Total joint replacement can remove a patients pain and restore the function of their joints. This is a wonderful life changing procedure, but recovery time is frequently dependent on physical therapy.

Our physical therapy program for joint replacement guides each patient through various stages of recovery. From use of mobility aids like walkers and canes to increasing flexibility and strengthening, the staff is right beside our patients every step of the way.

Occupational Athlete

Our Occupational Athlete Program is designed to get the injured employee back to work in a safe and efficient manner.

Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

The FCE is well documented for its validity and reliability in assessing the functional status of the injured worker. This tool allows the physical therapist and physician to make appropriate recommendations regarding timing of return to work as well as appropriate level of intensity for safe return to work. This test has the ability to identify inconsistencies of those not giving full effort. Though this test is traditionally done in the clinic, we like to take it to the work site when possible in order to gather more specific data.

Work Site Analysis
Our trained experts can go to the work site and create a detailed analysis of the physical requirements of a particular job.

Transitional Work and Onsite Physical Therapy

Rather than have an injured worker do countless repetitive and unproductive tasks trying to simulate work in a physical therapy office, we join the worker at the site to help them transition back to work safely. Working closely with their supervisor, the work physical therapist will modify the job as needed and safely progress the worker to an appropriate level of work. In conjunction with the transitional work, an active physical therapy program can also be done on site saving time and adding convenience.
